Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry has been part of the Golden State Warriors for a long time now. He has become synonymous with the Dub Nation. The skinny kid from Akron, Ohio, made his NBA debut back in 2009. He was the overall seventh 2009 NBA Draft pick. Initially, the Dubs did not look like a powerhouse, even with the special player from Davidson. However, two years later, Klay Thompson joined the Dubs franchise. A year after that, Draymond Green joined the group. Since then, the GSW had enjoyed great success with the iconic Dubs trio. They won four NBA championships in a span of eight years. Moreover, this trio has been playing together for 12 years.

Eventually, they became franchise icons and future Hall of Famers. However, things came crashing down at the end of the 2023-2024 season. First of all, the Warriors failed to make the playoffs. Secondly, it was the end of the reign of the ‘Dubs Dynasty,’ and the ‘Splash Brothers’ as Thompson decided to leave the franchise. The veteran shooting guard was looking for a fresh start and, so he joined the Dallas Mavericks this offseason. In the offseason, the Warriors tried to land Lauri Markkanen and Paul George, but they failed to do so. The Dubs need to find the best supporting cast around Stephen Curry this offseason. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green had been great support for Steph in the Dubs lineup, but their time is over. Green is still part of the franchise roster, but Thompson has moved to the Mavs. The Splash Bro of Curry joined the Mavs to increase his chances of making the NBA Finals next year. After all, the Dallas side was the runners-up last season. Fans wonder if the 36-year-old superstar would follow in Thompson’s footsteps. Paul Pierce, Boston Celtics legend, feels differently. The NBA Champion feels Steph is not going anywhere. In an interview with the Ticket and The Truth show, Paul Pierce mentioned, “Steph’s going down with that ship.”

Moreover, the former champion feels it is all about legacy right now for the greatest shooter of the game. Pierce added, “Legacy and everything at present is the icing on the cake for Curry.” The Celtics legend compared Steph’s situation with Kobe Bryant’s final years with the Los Angeles Lakers. Pierce mentioned that Kobe had lost in the last two years, but he still went hard at it. Moreover, Pierce was like, “Kobe did not complain, and that’s Steph at the Golden State. The Celtics legend feels Curry will carry that same mentality with the Warriors.
