Red Bull will miss Adrian Newey as he will move to Ferrari next year. It is an “End of an Era” phase for the Austrian outfit, as Newey has forever been part of the team since its inception. But in 2025, he will have his dream come true when he wears the iconic “Red” uniform. The chief technological officer mentioned in his book that it was his dream to work with Lewis Hamilton and be part of the ‘Prancing Horse.’ 2025 will dawn a new age in the Ferrari F1 story. However, for the Austrian outfit, Newey will always be an iconic face.
He is the mastermind behind the superior Red Bull cars over the years. Christian Horner along with his design chief saw his team’s domination from 2010 to 2013, and now, they have been witnessing hegemony since 2022. Moreover, Max Verstappen had won the 2021 Driver’s World Championship, thanks to Newey’s RB17. Lately, the design chief has unveiled the RB17 Hypercar. Adrian Newey called it “A piece of art.”
Red Bull Design Chief Unveils RB17 Hypercar
Adrian Newey is proud to present his RB17 Hypercar at the ‘Goodwood Festival of Speed.’ This Hypercar is capable of producing lap times like F1 performance. It has a naturally aspirated V10 engine that is capable of delivering 15,000 rpm. Newey believes he has achieved a first of its kind in the world. He said, “It is a piece of art.” Moreover, it has been the end product of Red Bull F1 car’s years of development. However, RB17 Hypercar has been reserved as a brainchild of Adrian Newey. Recently, Newey outlined the RB17’s astonishing performance and told the media, including RacingNews365, that the car really pushes the boundaries of everything they know into one car. The Red Bull design chief mentioned that at this level, the car should be a “Piece of art.”
Then significantly, Adrian Newey added the fact that the downforce of the car to its drag ratio puts it up to the territory of aircrafts. Hence, something like this has never been achieved before in motor racing. Later, Christian Horner claimed the RB17 Hypercar is “Adrian Unleashed.” Adding to that, the team principal mentioned that this Hypercar is the “Car that never was.” Hence, it is quite fitting, and, there is a lot of F1 DNA in it, that according to Horner, makes RB17, “The missing car.” Moreover, Horner mentioned that the Hypercar sits well with some of the best of Red Bull cars of all time. On top of that, he added, “This Hypercar is going to be the most extreme track car in history.”
Head Of Aerodynamics Mentioned The Greatness Of The New Car
Dan Smith, the head of aerodynamics of Red Bull Racing, claims the Newey car has a top speed of 350 kph. Hence, the Hypercar is a big step from “Anything out there.” Moreover, Smith says that the aerodynamic performance is significantly higher than anything out there. On top of that, Smith claims it is generally not possible to reach this level with an F1 car of this kind of aerodynamic performance. Adrian Newey reportedly said that he has been mulling over for several years with the idea of developing such a car.
Anyway, eventually, Newey said he had “a magnificent project and journey.” Additionally, he said it feels remarkable to finally see the birth of RB17. Moreover, Newey believes it embraces everything Red Bull stands for. He mentioned undeniable power, beauty, and speed. Moreover, he designed it as a two-seater so that the F1 speed can be enjoyed with a partner or a friend.
