CHECKOUT: Red Bull Enters Hungary With A MEGA Upgrade As The Race To The Throne Intensifies

Mclaren and Red Bull

RBR Daily

The Red Bull team, which was synonymous with domination at the start of the season, has found itself in a puddle. Although the team enjoys a healthy lead on the leaderboard, the chasing packs have posed a significant challenge. McLaren, who has consistently fought the RBR juggernaut, has been the most fierce competitor. On the other hand, Ferrari, which has slightly lost its path, is also a tough rival.

The resurging Mercedes suddenly appears too quick, making it a four-way battle. Thus, the Milton Keynes-based outfit is taking no risks as the F1 convoy reaches Hungary. The team has gone with an ‘all out’ attack, introducing one of the biggest upgrades of the season.

Red Bull Willing To Regain The Top Spot After A Slight Slump

As the fight for the world title gets jam-packed, Red Bull has reshuffled its cards to gain the upper hand. Although teams like Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes eagerly await any opportunity, it won’t be easy as Red Bull Racing strives to establish dominance. Despite Sergio Perez’s recent slump, the energy drink-based squad is taking long strides toward the world title. As a retaliation to block the rivals from taking over, RBR has revealed a mega update. The team has introduced a major overhaul, as they promised ahead of the Hungaroring GP. The first and most striking change is to the engine panel. The shoulder inlets and long cooling inlets have been replaced by a conventional design. Moreover, this change is due to the high temperatures of Hungary, as efficient cooling is non-negotiable.

Further, the team has worked on improving the downforce, as it is more of a high-downforce package. Subsequently, the technical crew installed new parts in the halo, rear, and front wings to improve the airflow. Unlike Red Bull, Mercedes has come up with a slight adjustment, as they introduce a minor upgrade. The James Allison-led team has improved the rear end to increase rear downforce. On similar lines, Ferrari has slightly tweaked the floor underboard to counter the excessive bouncing.

In addition, Aston Martin is ready with a new rear wing, floor, diffuser, and beam wing to improve the AMR24’s performance. Moreover, the technical team hopes to improve the airflow under the car to attain maximum load. For Stakes, the team has worked on new side pods, engine cover, floor, rear, corner suspension, and halo as they continue their hunt for the first point of the season. Meanwhile, Alpine, Haas, and RB have introduced minor upgrades, and McLaren remains the only team with no enhancement.

Helmut Marko’s Warning For The RBR Technical Team Ahead Of The Sunday Showdown

According to Marko, the team’s plan must be exact, as there is no tolerance for error. He admitted the RB20’s lack of performance on medium tyres during the Silverstone Grand Prix. However, the top adviser is enthusiastic about the Budapest update, which will put the team ahead.

Furthermore, Marko knows the continuing fight and believes McLaren is faster than Red Bull. He added that even Mercedes was faster during the British Grand Prix, leaving little room for mistakes in the following weekends. He then refuted the assumption that a quicker car in Barcelona will be faster worldwide, highlighting the importance of tire temperatures.
