CHECKOUT: Mercedes Unveils Special Livery For Singapore To Mark Petronas’ Golden Jubilee Celebration

Mercedes cars are usually seen in a black-silver livery with a green tint. The iconic livery has been spotted on the Silver Arrows’ F1 project. However, the German Marque will use a special wrap on its W15 in the upcoming Singapore GP. The car will be coated in a special color combination of silver, black, and emerald green. 

This new livery celebrates the Golden Jubilee of its Technical and Title partner, Petronas. The Malaysian Oil Company has been Mercedes’ partner since 2010. Recently, in 2022, the two companies extended the deal till 2026. Thus, Petronas will continue to provide sustainable fuel to the Silver Arrows. 

   

W15 To Don A Striking Livery For The Upcoming Weekend 

Mercedes unveiled a new livery to celebrate 50 years of Petronas. The Malaysian firm has been a close partner of Mercedes, providing sustainable fuel. The one-off livery will be emerald green all over the W15, replacing the classic silver. The side pods and font wings will also be green, making the W15 dynamic under the Marina Bay lights. 

Toto Wolff, the Mercedes F1 team boss, emphasized the significance of the partnership with Petronas, highlighting it as the team’s longest-standing collaboration. He acknowledged the remarkable achievement of Petronas reaching its 50th anniversary, describing it as an incredible milestone for any company. Wolff explained that the special livery Mercedes will be using is not only a tribute to Petronas’ 50 years of success but also a symbol of the company’s crucial role in the team’s journey. The design celebrates their shared history and reflects the strong, ongoing bond between Mercedes and Petronas.

Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are eager to showcase the special livery during the upcoming race weekend. The weekend is part of a larger celebration of Petronas’ 50th anniversary. Following the Grand Prix, the team has planned a visit to Kuala Lumpur to honor the milestone further.

Hamilton expressed his excitement about racing with the new livery, noting how incredible the design looks and sharing his anticipation of seeing it on the car in the garage before getting behind the wheel. He emphasized the privilege of celebrating this significant achievement and the strong relationship between Mercedes and Petronas at such an important event.

Similarly, Russell praised the livery design, describing it as a perfect tribute to Petronas’ milestone. He highlighted the importance of recognizing the partnership, especially at a race close to Petronas’ home base, adding to the occasion’s significance for both the team and their long-standing partner.
