CHECKOUT: Max Verstappen’s Subtle Advantage From Hamilton Crash

Max Verstappen

Indy Sport

The fierce competition between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen is not a new sight for Formula One fans. In 2021, the two special drivers competed for the world title. While Max Verstappen was declared champion, Lewis has lost his appeal since then. However, the Briton has emerged as a formidable competitor in recent races, while Verstappen has seemed weak.

Hamilton guided Mercedes to another podium result in the recent Hungary Grand Prix, improving their overall record. At the same time, the Red Bull battle continued following a collision on lap 63 of the race. The Dutchman was furious after the race and has faced harsh criticism ever since. However, the racer did himself a subtle favor by crashing into Hamilton.

Verstappen Helped Himself With The Crash

The ugly crash that sent Verstappen flying like a fairy on the Hungary track might have cheekily helped him. Although the Red Bull Racing triple champion pushed him to P5 and kept him out of contention, Verstappen’s afternoon was already marred by a series of disasters. At that moment, the Dutchman was adamant to lunge in as he was on the racing line. Although he was completely committed to the move, there were options to avoid the collision. However, a replica of this incident happened in the Austrian GP. Lando Norris was trying to lunge in on Verstappen through the racing line. However, even then, the RBR starlet was blamed.

Thus, this proves that irrespective of who is at fault, if a crash involves Max Verstappen, he will get all the blame. While he was entirely at fault for Hamilton’s crash, everyone still would have criticized Verstappen even if the roles were reversed. Despite being one of the finest racers of this era, Verstappen does not have an antidote to committing mistakes. However, due to the media’s false narrative, the Dutchman had to endure all the criticism while all he was doing was trying to win the race like every other driver.

Red Bull Clarifies Verstappen’s Radio Wrath

Christian Horner, Red Bull team principal, has confirmed intentions for a private talk with Max Verstappen following the driver’s scathing comments and colorful language during the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Verstappen was agitated during the 70-lap race and repeatedly expressed his discontent with team strategy and various race scenarios, resulting in harsh discussions with his engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase. Despite these tensions, Verstappen finished fifth following a collision with Lewis Hamilton on lap 63, in which his vehicle escaped major damage.
