The Mercedes camp is making a courageous recovery after months of hardship. Since the implementation of ground effect laws, the Silver Arrows have seemed off-colour. However, its colour palette has been updated in recent weeks. The rainbow reappeared for the Brackley-based team after a storm when George Russell won the Austrian Grand Prix. Later, in front of the home crowd, Lewis Hamilton won his 104th race in 945 days.

During the most recent Belgian Grand Prix, the British driver quickly increased his total to 105. Despite the crew’s equivocal reaction to the race, the W15 is probably one of the fastest F1 cars right now. The seven-time world champion spoke about the W15’s progress, lauding the technical team.

Hamilton Reclaims Control: Mercedes F1 Car Shows Improved Responsiveness

The iconic British racer Lewis Hamilton showcases his racing mastery on the tracks. While Hamilton is aiming for a record-breaking eighth world title, he has been impressive in the last few races. Although the Briton is far from clinching the title, he could still finish the season in a higher place. The 39-year-old racer is in sixth spot, a few points behind Carlos Sainz. This resurgence is due to better W15 configurations grabbing everyone’s attention.

Therefore, in a media interaction, Hamilton expressed a significant turnaround in his performance during the recent race, highlighting a dramatic improvement from the previous Friday. He described the experience as “night and day” different, noting that while he and his team struggled with the car’s balance earlier in the weekend, the vehicle felt remarkably responsive and under control on race day. This newfound control allowed him to take the lead and pull away from the competition, a sensation he had not experienced for years.

Hamilton also discussed his frustration with Mercedes regarding his pit-stop strategy. He had advocated for a one-stop strategy but was brought in for a second stop. This decision was particularly frustrating for him because his teammate, George Russell, successfully executed a one-stop strategy and initially secured the victory. The British legend believed his tyres were still in good condition and that he was driving faster, making the second pit stop seem unnecessary.
