Juan Soto has been the biggest addition to the roster of the New York Yankees in the last offseason. Since then, the team has been enjoying the dividends of landing the best hitter in baseball. However, there have been speculations regarding how long he will stay in the Bronx. After all, he is going to be the biggest free agent in the next offseason. Moreover, people consider him as a “Generational talent.” Hence, several teams will be in line to try to land him. But as per the latest reports, the two teams with the best odds to land Juan Soto for a long term this offseason are the two New York teams – the Yankees and the Mets.

Lately, these city rivals have started playing the ‘Subway Series.’ Unfortunately for the Bronx Bombers, they started the series with a loss. They have been going through a bit of a rough patch lately. This NY side has lost back-to-back three series, and this Subway Series might end up being their fourth straight series loss. However, the Dominican superstar is not feeling that negative about it. He says these things happen in baseball.

On Tuesday, at Citi Field, the Yankees and the Mets had an exciting encounter. But the Mets eventually won 9-7. Aaron Judge hit a Grand Slam, and Juan Soto hit a home run. However, that was not enough for the team from the Bronx to beat their city rivals. In June, the 27-time World Champions started well; however, later, they suffered some big losses. The division rivals, the Baltimore Orioles, beat the NY side 17-5 in one game. Then, the Atlanta Braves also won a game 8-1 against the Bombers. Lately, the Mets started the series with a win. Later, Juan Soto said in a post-game interview, “You know, it is a part of the game; sometimes, you will win, sometimes, you will lose.”

Anyway, the Dominican slugger said that the team has been playing an aggressive brand of baseball. He is happy about that. But in Game 1 against the Mets, they scored a couple of home runs. However, it just was not enough. Most importantly, Soto said it is just a part of the game. The home team was enjoying a 6-0 lead until the fourth innings. In the fifth inning, Juan Soto reduced the gap with a solo homer off David Peterson. It was his 19th of the ongoing season. He hit a 423-foot home run that went on with an exit velocity of 109.9 miles per hour.

The New York Post’s Jon Heyman asked Juan Soto about the potential move to the NY Mets. What if the Mets bid for him? The 25-year-old superstar replied, “We’ll see.” Moreover, he mentioned that they will figure it out in the offseason. Again, Soto indicated his agent, Scott Boras, saying, “I’ll just let him do his thing.” He believes both of them together will sort it out.

Moreover, Heyman reported that the Mets will be “The biggest outside threat” to land the three-time All-Star. On Wednesday, the two NY sides will meet again. Moreover, the NY side will look to end their series losing streak with a win against their city rivals.
