Max Verstappen has proved that he is the most dominating F1 driver in the modern era. Arguably, the Dutchman can be the most dominant driver of all time. He broke the record of Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel of winning most races in a season. The two great German drivers had the previous record of 13 wins in a season. But the current triple-time champion went past the record of 13 wins in back-to-back seasons. He won 15 races in 2022 and improved his own record with 19 GP wins last year. Thanks to the fastest car, the RB19, Red Bull, and Max Verstappen have been unstoppable in the past couple of years.

Moreover, the Austrian outfit won 17 races in 2022 and got better last year. Christian Horner’s team won 21 races in 2023. Albeit, the Red Bull car is helping the Dutch driver a lot, it is not doing much of a difference for Sergio Perez. Verstappen’s teammate only managed to win a couple of races in 2023 as well as in 2022. On the other hand, Max Verstappen has won 34 GPs in the last two years compared to his teammate’s overall four wins. That’s why the Dutchman is the driver to beat in the cost cap era.

Recently, in an interview, Peter Windsor hailed the Red Bull star as the greatest driver of the modern era. After eliminating his final weakness against his teammate, Max Verstappen has got even finer than before. On his YouTube channel, Peter Windsor said clearly this is Max’s era. It is not Lewis Hamilton’s era, nor it is Charles Leclerc’s. Moreover, in case of Hamilton, Windsor feels the former champion has not been able to enjoy this era at all. But Windsor also said that if Verstappen started with his former team Williams, he would not grow so matured so fast.

But he would have been still brilliant. Moreover, Windsor said it is very difficult to find any fault of Max Verstappen in recent times. But Windsor feels that back in 2022, Checo was better than Max in driving on street circuits, like in Baku, Monaco and some others. However, last year, Max Verstappen showed better feel for traction, applying power and the back end of a car. Sergio Perez had all these advantages prior to the last season. However, Max Verstappen showed immense improvement and that’s the reason why he was able to get four more wins in 2023.

Max Caused A Lot Of Trouble For Checo Last Season

Since Max Verstappen improved in the areas where Checo was better than him in 2022, the Mexican driver has felt even more pressure. Peter Windsor feels when Checo realized he was not able to beat Max in those specific areas, he started struggling. Max Verstappen has cleared all those bases at present as well. Windsor said that perhaps Max even got better than himself in that area, probably as good as Checo now.

Hence, it is an incredible improvement of the current triple-time champion. Clearly, when the Dutch driver is looking flawless around slow and fast corners, he is the finest driver of the era. It would be a really tough competition if teams like Mercedes, Ferrari, or McLaren came up with cars to challenge Max and Red Bull.
