CHECKOUT: How Marlins Can Help Yankees By Improving Their Offense?

Yankees- Marlins

The New York Yankees had a difficult season this year. It was a terrible year as they faced a lot of injury issues that resulted in them not making the postseason. Moreover, the NY side did manage to maintain the streak of winning seasons. They finished with an 82-80 record. It was a horrible way to finish the season for a team that was initially a contender to at least reach the World Series. Moreover, Brian Cashman acknowledged the feelings of the fans.

The GM knows that the team has disappointed the fans in the last few seasons. But this year, the Yankees could not qualify for the postseason for the first time since 2016. It happened for the first time under Aaron Boone as the manager. Since 2018, Boone has been the manager. Currently, Boone has a new bench coach, Brad Ausmus. It is the first time Boone will have a bench coach with managerial experience. Anyhow, the Yankees can get some much-needed help from the Miami Marlins.

How Can The Marlins Help The Yankees?

The Marlins might be willing to trade pitchers like Edward Cabrera and Trevor Rogers. Edward Cabrera is a pretty sought-after name. But the Yankees can trade Gleyber Torres for Cabrera. It seems like a pretty good deal. Albeit, the Bronx Bombers have a pretty strong bullpen. They wouldn’t mind reinforcing their pitching department. If the Marlins won’t trade Cabrera, they might trade first baseman Josh Bell. Next year, the Marlins owe Bell $16.5 million. Hence, the trade with the Yankees can save the Marlins some money. As Gleyber Torres will deserve $15 million in his final year as long as he’s eligible.

On the other hand, the Yankees might also like to trade Anthony Rizzo. He is also a first baseman and a pretty good player. But he suffered last year because of post-concussion syndrome. The NY side needs more power in the offense and Bell can help them a bit. It may not solve their problem entirely in the offseason. Nevertheless, it is a good start. The Marlins need pitchers, and the Yankees needs a better batting average. They’re looking for players who can play in the left and center field.

Yankees Will Have A Versatile Lefty Hitter In The Form

Many fans were upset with Aaron Boone as the season got over. But the Yankees organization, especially the captain Aaron Judge showed full support to Boone. In fact, Boone has one more year remaining in his contract. Anyway, the Yankees are looking for ways to bolster their roster. They need to bring balance and stability to the personnel. The Yankees had the second-worst batting average after the Oakland Athletics in 2023. Hence, they need more power in the offense.

Currently, the NY side is looking to deal with the San Diego Padres for the superstar outfielder Juan Soto. But the Padres won’t trade him so cheaply. They would ask the Yankees to give up on major assets. Hence, the next best player who fits the Yankees outfit perfectly is Cody Bellinger. He’s a free agent and he’s a superstar lefty outfielder too. Moreover, he won’t cost as hefty as Juan Soto who would be a free agent at the end of the next season.
