Aaron Judge showed his unbelievable strength again on Monday as he led the New York Yankees to win 14-4 against the Philadelphia Phillies. He had been enjoying a great season so far. Albeit, he had a very slow start to the ongoing regular season, especially the month of April was not that fun for the captain of the NY side. However, in May, the 2022 AL MVP turned things around. And in no time did he manage to get on top of the home run leader spot in the league for this season. At present, he has hit 39 home runs and has gained 99 RBIs overall this year.

He is leading the league in several offensive categories. Clearly, Judge is a top favorite to win the American League MVP this year. Now, the Yankees will need him to continue at the same pace if they want to go deep into the playoffs. Lately, the Bronx Bombers won a series against the Philadelphia Phillies. It was all Aaron Judge show, especially in Game 1 of that series.

On Monday, Aaron Judge hit his 38th and 39th home runs of the season. But he was not the only one to hit two homers that day for the NY side. The new addition, Jazz Chisholm Jr. also hit a couple of home runs against the Phillies that got the Yankees score to 14-4. Before the ninth inning, the former Miami Marlins outfielder borrowed the captain’s bat. And he went on to hit a homer on a 65 mph pitch off Garrett Stubbs, the Phillies catcher, who was filling in for an extra pitcher for his team. Hence, Aaron Judge’s bat helped him hit two home runs as well, and it also helped Jazz hit one of his couple of homers. The Yankees captain hit the first home run on Monday in the first inning off Zack Wheeler, All-Star hurler of the Phillies.

Then, in the seventh inning, he went long again for an impressive 430-foot homer off Yunior Marte. That increased his season totals to 39 home runs and 99 RBIs. Over the last 71 games, Aaron Judge continues to display an unbelievable consistency level and power at the plate with 33 home runs and driving in 80 RBIs. On Monday, the California Native had his career’s 37th multi-homer game. With his remarkable home run streak, the Yankees captain keeps on captivating the fans.

For a long time in the 2024 season, fans have been blaming the Yankees for their over-dependence on the Judge-Soto duo. Ben Rice and Jazz Chisholm Jr. are some of the young brigade of the NY side who joined Judge’s show on Monday. Both of them managed to hit home runs. Later, Aaron Judge praised the readiness and resilience of the team and noted that they put 40 runs in the last four games. Other than the offense, the Yankees’ defense had a great game on Monday, too.

Luis Gil has been inconsistent lately, but he had a strong performance on the mound in Game 1 against the Phillies. Later, Gil credited his former teammate Luis Severino with advising him to improve his slider grip. That’s what the Bronx Bombers need to maintain in the coming games: a total team effort.
