Adrian Newey’s expertise helped to build the Red Bull team, which is now one of the best in Formula One. The most recognized vehicle designer in Formula One contributed to the team’s journey from mediocrity to top performance. However, internal friction and incompetence prompted him to leave RBR. While the Milton Keynes club suffered a significant blow, other teams sensed an opportunity.
Thus, every F1 team vigorously fought to sign the aero wizard. While there is no official confirmation, sources indicate that only three teams are in the running. However, for the first time in several months, Adrian Newey spoke openly about his present status at Red Bull and future plans.
Adrian Newey Providing Trackside Advises To Team Red Bull
Adrian Newey, the renowned aerodynamicist, recently elaborated on his role with Red Bull Racing during race weekends. During an interview with Autosport, Newey explained that during races such as Miami, Monaco, and Silverstone, his primary focus is interacting with the drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, and discussing race strategies. Additionally, he meets with clients and customers, indicating the importance of these interactions in extending the Formula 1 team’s ethos to developing the RB17 with Red Bull Advanced Technologies.
The Briton emphasized that this collaborative effort involves everyone, ensuring that the approach taken during Formula 1 weekend is mirrored in the RB17 project. This seamless integration will continue even if he is not physically present, thanks to the dedicated team, including his son Harry, who will manage the RB17 through to completion. Although Newey plans to step down from his current role in March next year, he assured that he will remain actively involved in addressing queries and attending track tests.
Reflecting on his transition out of Formula 1 since the end of April, Newey highlighted that it has allowed him to focus exclusively on the RB17. This shift enables him to delve deeper into the mechanical and engineering aspects of the project, as well as other critical considerations essential for its success.
The Aero Wizard Will Stay Until The Completion Of RB17
While discussing his F1 future, Newey did not reveal much information and stated that anything that comes his way is a bonus. Furthermore, he stated that his desire has always been to boost an automobile’s performance, which he would like to do.
The RB17 Hypercar is a high-end, high-tech vehicle manufactured by Red Bull. Adrian Newey’s concept has a monocoque chassis powered by a high-revving NA V10. The first glimpse of this speed machine was just presented during the Goodwill Festival.
