Steve Kerr helped the Golden State Warriors become this modern-day NBA dynasty. Anyhow, the main players like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green missed quite a few games of the first 21 contests in the current regular season. Moreover, Kerr knows how overly dependent the GSW is on Steph Curry. Anyhow, Klay Thompson led the team alone in a few of those games.
But they didn’t do so well. Lately, the Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers with the virtue of the 21-year-old Jonathan Kuminga. But Kuminga was a DNP. Hence, Steve Kerr is thinking about playing different starting lineups in the next few games to figure out the perfect starting lineup.
Steve Kerr Open To Have A Fluid Starting Lineup
The Warriors coach feels it is essential to play the team that can win the game on a specific night. Like Kuminga came off the bench to win the game against Portland. Hence, the Warriors coach looks forward to be fluid in terms of the starting lineup going forward. Generally, the coach says it is easier for everybody when they know which role is for whom and where they fit. But this season so far has proven that the puzzle has not really worked out yet.

Hence, the first unit and the role players must be ready to exchange duties depending on who the Warriors will face on the given day. That’s the rule Kerr wants to follow this season. Moreover, it is a topic for discussion if moving the starters around from game to game is such a good idea. But it is an interesting approach anyway. Anyway, in the last couple of seasons, the starters of the Warriors have been among the league’s best. But in the 2023-24 season so far, they have struggled mightily.
The Warriors Coach Knows A Thing Or Two About Building The NBA Dynasties
As a player, Kerr was part of the most famous NBA team of all time, arguably the Chicago Bulls. Kerr played alongside Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and so on. That Bulls team won six titles in the 1990s. Very few teams come even close to the popularity of the dynasties of the Bulls in the 90s. The Los Angeles Lakers enjoyed hegemony in two different decades (once in the 1980s and again in the 2000s). But in terms of championships, the most dominating team in the league’s history was Bill Russell’s Boston Celtics. They won 11 titles in 13 seasons.
It is quite impossible in modern times, with the game getting more and more competitive, to enjoy such domination. But Steve Kerr, as a coach, was able to help the Warriors win four titles in eight years. Now, Kerr wishes to figure out a way to help the San Francisco team win their 5th title in ten years. However, the Golden State Warriors did not have a great start this regular season. Currently, they are 10-11. The GSW is the 11th seed in the Western Conference at present. After 21 games, it is not the place where Steve Kerr wanted his team to be in.
