The Sports Rush

Formula One is one of the most intense sports in the world. With the pinnacle of motorsport, the thrill and challenge is always sky-high. Thus, when matters get fierce, drivers and teams often forget about sportsmanship and disrespect the rivals. Whether it’s a blunt comment or a savage gesture, the rivals belittling each other’s achievements is a common sight.

However, for a change, the Red Bull team has presented an example of sportsmanship and game spirit. While Red Bull and Mercedes are ardent rivals, both on and off the track, the RBR team won hearts when they applauded the British GP winner and a rival, Lewis Hamilton.

Red Bull Team Including Christian Horner & Max Verstappen Bows Down To Hamilton’s Victory

The Sports Rush

Whenever Red Bull and Mercedes are mentioned in a statement, F1 fans often think about the 2021 final race. This penultimate race crowned Max Verstappen the world champion for the first time. While Verstappen had been dominating the race track since then, Hamilton had a contrasting outcomes. The seven-time world champion could not spark the fire, as he went victory-less for more than two years. Moreover, since the 2021 race, Mercedes and Red Bull shared a tense dynamic, which later turned into verbal exchanges. The Silver Arrows chief, Toto Wolff, has admitted he wants to sign Red Bull-bound Max Verstappen. Thus, this further heightened the tension between the two top F1 teams. Therefore, whenever the representatives of either team speak about the other, it’s usually a criticism.

However, Red Bull chief Christian Horner lauded Hamilton’s British GP victory, applauding his efforts. As a report by Pit Debrief suggests, Horner claimed the fellow British to be a deserving champion. The RBR boss took off his hat as a gesture of respect for the resilient Hamilton. Earlier, Max Verstappen was also seen applauding the Briton in a video shared on Formula One’s official Twitter account. The Dutchman was the first to congratulate Hamilton after the two crossed the finish line. While this gesture by the Red Bull team is winning the hearts of F1 fans, it will be interesting to see what the upcoming weekend holds.

When questioned about the present situation, Lewis Hamilton said he had no remorse about leaving Mercedes for a rival team. Reflecting on the season, he admitted that, at first, the team’s vehicle was not competitive enough to challenge Red Bull or achieve wins, making the possibility of departing bittersweet.

However, as the season went on, the team made major improvements to the W15, making it more comfortable and competitive. Hamilton’s combined work and achievement allowed him to retire on a high rather than a sad note.
