There is no doubt that Aaron Judge is currently the most important player in the Yankees. Even before signing him from the free agency, The management made it very clear that Judge is their number one priority. Now, he has also been named the captain of the side. However, it turns out Judge was calling the shots even before he was named captain. Reports suggest the Yankees\’ move of signing Carlos Rodon was taken after Aaron Judge\’s endorsements.

Aaron Judge Approved The Yankees Signing Carlos Rodon!

On Wednesday morning, the Yankees officially announced Aaron Judge\’s nine-year contract and appointed the outfielder captain. The team also welcomed Judge back to the group. When Aaron Judge chose to re-sign with the Yankees, Hal Steinbrenner persuaded him that the team\’s roster would be stronger over the winter. The most significant event after Judge was the official signing of Carlos Rodon on Wednesday, which Judge approved.

After his six-year, $162 million contract became official on Wednesday, Carlos Rodon will be revealed during a press conference at the Stadium on Thursday. Additionally, they formalized Tommy Kahnle\’s deal. Lucas Luetge and Junior Fernandez, two relievers, were designated for assignment to create a place for Rodon and Kahnle on the 40-man roster.

Carlos Rodón, an ace-caliber starter who agreed to a $162 million contract to wear pinstripes, is New York\’s second noteworthy acquisition this winter on the free market. It\’s a move that elevates the Yankees\’ starting lineup to an exceptional level by giving the staff\’s pitchers, including Frankie Montas, more opportunities to shine.

For the past two seasons, the left-handed standout has excelled. Likewise, last month the Pirates grabbed right-handed pitcher Fernandez off waivers. Carlos Rodon recently had two successful seasons, one with the Giants and the other with the White Sox. He has spent a lot of his career battling injuries. However, the 30-year-old has excelled while healthy.

The Yankees are still looking for left-fielders and bullpen pitchers. After Andrew Benintendi signed as a free agent with the White Sox, general manager Brian Cashman stated that the organization would seek internal replacements. Oswaldo Cabrera, Aaron Hicks, and Estevan Florial, who has excelled in the minors, are some of the contenders. Nevertheless, he hasn\’t shown himself in the majors.

The Yankees needed to clear some room on their roster as they pursued Rodón. Along with keeping Anthony Rizzo, Aaron Judge, and Rodón, they are in need of a 40-man roster of 41 players. That doesn\’t include reliever Tommy Kahnle, whose two-year contract was agreed upon but isn\’t yet official. New York sent reliever Junior Fernandez to another position to make room for Rodón. Fernández, a right-hander with some untapped promise and a quick sinker, was grabbed by the Yankees earlier this summer off waivers.
