Aroldis Chapman Suffering With \’Scary\’ Tattoo Infection!

Yankees pitcher Aroldis Chapman has had many tattoos throughout the course of his MLB career. So, when Chapman chose to add one more to his collection last week, he didn\’t think twice about it. The pitcher was unaware that the image of his sister that he got inked on his left calf would lead to his second injury absence in 2022. And this might become another setback for the Yankees in a forgettable season. After having the tattoo earlier in the week, Chapman began to experience irritation in his leg on Thursday.

As a result of an infected tattoo wound, Aroldis Chapman was added to the 15-day injury list on Saturday. On Saturday, the Yankees decided against a corresponding roster change. And fortunately, we now know more about Chapman\’s condition. Aroldis expressed his regret at not being allowed to play when speaking with Yes Network.

Chapman further updated about his tattoo infection as he awaits his return. \”I have many tattoos and I\’ve never gone through something like that,\” he said through New York\’s interpreter. \”I remember chatting with the doctor. And he basically told me there\’s an infection right now going on. I had a fever, but I feel much better now.\”

After New York\’s homestand prior to this 10-game road trip, Chapman disclosed that he had gotten the tattoo the previous weekend. Chapman\’s availability to pitch continued until Thursday\’s series-opening in Oakland, according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone. The infection started then, prior to the conclusion of this four-game set. And Chapman ended up camped out at the team hotel.

Update On Yankees Jose Trevino\’s Toe Injury

In the 11th inning of their 3-2 defeat to the Athletics on Saturday, Jose Trevino was out of the starting lineup after appearing to avert a catastrophic injury on Friday night. He was struck by a pitch on the right big toe. Yankees manager Aaron Boone also revealed the catcher would probably sit out on Sunday. Kyle Higashioka eventually took his position after he was struck by a 94 mph fastball in the bottom of the eighth inning. Jose initially continued to play in the game.

Luckily, as per the reports, the injury is not that serious, as Jose has revealed that he is feeling good now. In addition, Aaron Boone also echoed Trevino\’s stance, saying, \”We feel fortunate we dodged something serious.\” The injury highlighted how much the Yankees have relied on Trevino in recent years. Yankees obtained him from Texas near the end of spring training in trade for Albert Abreu and left-handed minor league pitcher Robby Ahlstrom.
