Anthony Volpe, the New York Yankees debutant, is having a gala time at the Yankees clubhouse so far. He has bonded well with his teammates and is comfortable hitting strong pitches on the plate. His offense peaked in the past few weeks, which is a good sign for the Bombers. Also, the shortstop enjoys immense backing from the Yankees front office as well as the captain, Aaron Judge.

Apparently, Aaron Judge sees a little bit of himself in Anthony Volpe and is in complete awe of the rookie’s athleticism and work ethic. In the clubhouse, he treats Volpe like a little brother. When the shortstop hit a mini-slump a few weeks ago, Judge stepped in to defend the rookie and reckoned he still has a lot of faith in Volpe’s abilities. However, the tables turned, and the captain landed in a huge controversy. The rookie thought of it as a perfect opportunity to pay Judge back with sheer support.

Anthony Volpe Sends A Heartwarming Message To Aaron Judge’s Mom Amid Cheating Allegations

This week was arguably the most challenging time of Yankees captain Aaron Judge‘s career. His integrity towards the sport was put in question when certain broadcasters leveled outrageous cheating allegations on the slugger. They accused him of stealing signs from the Yankees’ third base coach. A hurt Judge jumped in his defense and claimed innocence. Since there was no proof of any wrongdoing, MLB decided not to take the matter into the investigation. Regardless, the slugger’s image took a hit by the unproven accusations.

Meanwhile, Anthony Volpe showed his support to his captain in a unique way. He scored a home run against the Blue Jays in the rubber game, which helped the Yankees seal the series by 3-1. In the post-game presser, Volpe dedicated his hit to Aaron Judge’s mother, Patty Judge. The rookie explained that when he heard those absurd and stupid cheating rumors, Patty was the first person who came to his mind. He added Patty is a great woman who raised Aaron the right way, and she did not deserve to hear such nasty things about her son. Hence, when Volpe rounded the bases to complete his homer, he decided to dedicate it to Patty Judge to let her know that the boys back at the Yankees clubhouse have got her son’s back, and she need not worry about anything.

Volpe Has Cracked The Code To Tackle High-Velocity Pitches

Anthony Volpe, like any other rookie, struggled at the start of the season. The high-velocity pitches were something he had to overcome to ensure success on the plate. After weeks of hard work, he made the necessary adjustment, and that resulted in towering homers on the field. On Thursday, he smoked a home run off a 98 mph fastball against the Toronto Blue Jays, which helped the Yankees secure a much-needed series win.

This season, Anthony Volpe has already scored seven home runs, and it’s just the second month of the season. While his batting average has gone down owing to the mini-slump, his overall contributions in the form of RBIs and stolen bases cannot be overlooked. It’s safe to say Volpe is the next big thing ready to explode in the big leagues.
