Aaron Judge is the current hot topic in the vibrant city of New York. The Yankees captain has made more noise while sitting on the bench than he ever did while hitting homers on the plate. He hit his toe on the fence of the Dodgers stadium, which apparently “tore” the ligament tissue and was the root cause of his ongoing IL stint.

The incident happened on June 4, and it’s been a month with no signs of Aaron Judge on the field. His baseball activities are limited to playing catch and being a mentor to the team. Having said that, it seems the situation is going to improve soon. Just recently, the captain took yet another step towards a possible return which might hype up the dejected and anxious Yankee fans.

The latest development on Aaron Judge’s injury is going to cheer up the Yankee fans for sure. After playing catch for a week, the captain has reportedly resumed hitting off a tee. This is the first time Judge has picked up a bat since that unfortunate accident at Dodgers stadium. Yankees manager Aaron Boone claimed that Aaron Judge is doing as much as he can tolerate physically. Further, the team’s hitting coach, Dillon Lawson, termed the latest progress “encouraging.” He affirmed that the batter’s swing is looking great, and he is able to put pressure on his back right foot without feeling any discomfort.

However, Aaron Judge is yet to resume field activities for now, and it’s unlikely to change anytime soon. Despite this minimal progression, the Yankees still have no return timeline to offer. The team needs time to conduct plenty of tests and assessments to monitor his progress. For now, all the Yankees can confirm is that their captain will skip the All-Star game, for which he has been selected as a starter. Judge also happens to be the only Yankee after Gerrit Cole to have earned an opportunity to feature in the midsummer classic. But as fate has it, the captain will have to skip the event for this year.

The rumor market has been rife ever since Aaron Judge made the revelation of a “torn” ligament. People jumped to wild conclusions, with some even raising doubt over the batter’s future participation in the season. However, the Yankees captain is highly optimistic and recently dropped a hint about his return during a live show. Judge, Gerrit Cole and Aaron Boone were making an appearance on the TODAY show when the batter spoke about his return timeline.

Aaron Judge said that the upcoming All-Star break would buy him a few additional days to recover. After the break, he hopes to be back out in the field really soon. Earlier, a Yankee insider also suggested Judge’s return timeline be around a week or two after the All-Star break. Hence, it’s highly likely the Yankees captain will make a comeback sometime in the latter half of the season, which is the need of the hour for the Bronx Bombers.
