The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled for the majority of the season so far. Out of twelve games in the 22-23 season, the squad has lost ten games, including one last night. Previously there have been several rumors about the franchise trade of Russell Westbrook to acquire Myles Turner and Buddy Hield. However, now the reports claim that the Lakers might be taking a step back from the trade.

The Lakers Giving Up The Idea Of Trading Russell Westbrook For Myles Turner!

The Los Angeles Lakers 2022–23 season is off to a rough start, as most of the attention has been placed on potential trades rather than their performance on the court. Indiana Pacers\’ Myles Turner and Buddy Hield are by far the most well-liked candidates that LA has mentioned in connection with Westbrook. Since the summer, there have been negotiations between the Lakers and Pacers. However, the organization has been hesitant to deal with Russell Westbrook and its first-round choices in 2027 and 2029, as Indiana is allegedly demanding.

With their choice to retain their big three intact, the Los Angeles Lakers may be about to make a very unexpected U-turn. According to the most recent sources, the team is reluctant to act. It comes after Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook were both given greater responsibilities.

While the Lakers appear to be going forward with confidence, they now have the poorest record in the NBA. Thus this has not translated into victories on the court. A year ago, this record would have been unthinkable if the team included players like LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis. However, the team\’s performance has steadily declined since Westbrook signed in the summer of last year.

According to recent sources, the Lakers are happy with Russell Westbrook\’s performance in his new position and believe that he is prospering. Westbrook has spent less time on the court alongside LeBron James ever since he became the first guy off the bench, popularly known as the sixth man. As a result, he has been able to play in the manner that suits him best. Controlling the ball, dribbling toward the basket, and setting up shooters around him.

Moreover, a transfer for Anthony Davis and Westbrook seems improbable at this point. In light of last week\’s reports that he would be transferred in order to create a team around James. He has complained that the Lakers are utilizing him in a position that is not his favorite one. However, according to the reports, no conversations have taken place. Davis will not be relocated unless the Lakers receive a sizable offer. That is doubtful, given his previous history of injuries.
