Aaron Judge is trying his best to lead the New York Yankees to the postseason this year. Last year, the NY side failed to make the postseason. It has been a terrible memory for the 27-time World Champions. The wound of the 82-80 record is still quite fresh for the team. They have been looking for redemption this year. Moreover, the addition of Juan Soto has raised a lot of hopes back in the Bronx. On top of that, the team started the 2024 season really well. They won 50 games this season before anyone else. Moreover, they have been leading the American League East Division for a long time. However, a sudden slump since June 13 really slowed the momentum down for the Yankees. They went 6-16 in the next 22 games in June.

Later, they had an even worse start in July. After all, the Bronx Bombers went 4-8. Then, the much-needed All-Star break happened for the NY side. It gave them time to rejuvenate. Aaron Judge and his partner in baseball crime, Juan Soto, had a great outing in the Midsummer Classic. Moreover, they helped the American League win 5-3 against the National League. After the All-Star break, they went 2-2 over a four-game series playing against the Tampa Bay Rays. During the last game in that series, Aaron Judge had a stare-down moment with a Rays hitter.

On Monday, the Yankees won big against the Tampa Bay Rays. The home team thrashed the visitors 9-1. They needed this victory to prevent a series loss right after the All-Star break. Jose Siri hit the only home run for the visitors on Monday. But then, he celebrated in a certain way that surely did not sit well with the Yankees crowd, team, especially the captain. It seemed like the NY side had enough of Siri taking his sweet time. When Siri hit the homer off Carlos Rodon in the top of the fifth inning, he pinched his palm to address the boos from the New York crowd. He did a “Keep talking” celebration before he stepped on the home plate.

That’s when the YES Network cameras focused on Aaron Judge’s reaction to that celebration. The current home run leader of the league did not blink or flinch but kept staring at Siri. Even the broadcast booth of the NY side did not appreciate Siri’s celebration. Michael Kay said, “Celebrate when you’re winning. You are losing now.” It was not the first time that Siri did a home run trot against the Yankees. On Sunday, when the Rays won against the home team 6-4, the hitter provided a similar trot after he slugged a two-run hit.

As per Bradley Locker of The New York Post, Aaron Boone mentioned that it is a new world. In fact, it was Michael Kay who conceded that Boone did not like the “Keep talking” celebration either. Prior to Monday’s game, the Yankees skipper noted that he prefers to look away when something like that happens. He added, “Guys will do what they usually do.”

But individuals will have to deal with these situations however, they can or want to. Somebody might not like it, then, Boone thinks, “It’s on us then to keep them in the ballpark.” Anyway, other than letting Siri hit a homer, Carlos Rodon had a good game. He pitched seven innings, and got eight strikeouts and two hits.
