Aaron Judge- Anthony Rizzo

Aaron Judge scripted history last season by surpassing the all-time record of hitting most homers in a single MLB season with 62 home runs in total. Later, in the off-season, he yet again placed his name in the book of history by being the most expensive player in the history of MLB. The slugger signed a nine-year extension contract with the Yankees worth $360 million and thus became a forever Yankee.

Days after the extension contract was signed, the Yankees front office announced Aaron Judge as the captain of the squad for the upcoming season. Thus, Aaron became the 16th player to hold this position for the club and will succeed Derek Jeter. Meanwhile, ahead of the spring training, the slugger appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show and spoke about his bond with his teammate Anthony Rizzo. Moreover, the slugger listed the one quality he inherited from Anthony.

Just a few weeks into spring training, Yankees captain Aaron Judge appeared on “Tonight’s Show” hosted by Jimmy Fallon. The slugger spoke his heart out and spilled beans on many things. Moreover, the captain spoke in detail about his bond with his teammate, Anthony Rizzo. He spoke highly of Rizzo and, in the course, revealed the one quality he picked up from his best buddy.

Apparently, Aaron Judge invited Anthony Rizzo to a webinar series hosted for his “All Rise Foundation.” The series was meant to discuss the importance of leadership skills in sports and how to become a successful leader. Aaron revealed Rizzo stepped right into the leadership role effortlessly from day one, which came as a surprise to the slugger. Judge added that Rizzo’s leadership quality is something he picked up a lot while playing together.

Anthony Rizzo Convinced Judge To Stay With The Yanks

The bromance between Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo goes a long way. It all started in 2021 when Rizzo stepped foot in the Yankees bullpen. The slugger revealed in the talk show that it was actually Rizzo who convinced him to stay with the Bombers. Aaron said Rizzo called and texted him every day in pursuit and even sent dog pictures. Apparently, Anthony and Judge’s pets are best buddies. Hence, Anthony tried to lure him using their pets.

Anthony’s efforts did not go in vain, as Aaron Judge signed a nine-year contract with the Yankees. Rizzo, too, signed an extension deal. Hence, the best friends will stay together and will likely lead the Yankees in the 2023 MLB season. Meanwhile, the player will report for spring training in a few weeks. Moreover, opening day will pan out sometime around March. Furthermore, the New York Yankees have a strong bullpen. But is it good enough to contest for the World Series title? Only time will tell!
