It might have taken a lot of time and was one of the most expensive contracts in MLB history. But The Yankees finally signed Aaron Judge for nine years after almost two months of rumors and negotiation. On December 7, the Yankees officially confirmed that they had signed Aaron Judge for nine years.
Aaron recently stated that he had made up his decision to accept the nine-year, $360 million offer from the Yankees. And he declined a comparable offer from his native San Francisco Giants after receiving a late-night call from GM Hal Steinbrenner. Following that discussion, during which Steinbrenner extended the Yankees\’ offer huge contract and leadership to Aaron. Judge agreed to the terms of the agreement, thereby designating him a Yankee for life.
Aaron Judge stated, \”It came to a decision we knew in our heart we belong in New York, we belong in this city.\” He further added that he has some unfinished business left with the Yankees, and he intends to complete it. Of course, by unfinished business, he meant winning a World Series with the Yankees, which Judge wants to do in the coming season.
Even though Judge, 30, smashed 62 home runs to establish the American League record in his MVP season, neither a World Series championship nor appearance can be found on his resume. In addition to making Judge the 16th captain in the team\’s history and the first since Derek Jeter.
