Aaron Judge Hit His 50th Home Run!

It looks like Aaron Judge is poised to write Yankees history. He only needs 12 more home runs to surpass Roger Maris\’ 61-homer season record from 1961, which has held for over 60 years. Additionally, it sets a single-season record for home runs in the American League. In the meantime, his outstanding hit in the game against Angeles marked his 50th Home Run for the season. This moved him one step closer to the accomplishment.

Aaron Judge reached the 50-home run feat for the second time in his career with more than a month left in the regular season. Judge became the third player in MLB history to have multiple seasons with at least 50 home runs . The Yankees\’ deficit was reduced to one run by Judge\’s lone blast off Angels reliever Ryan Tepera. But the rally ended there, as the visitors were forced to accept a 4-3 loss, their third straight loss.

The stadium\’s spectators went completely insane as they witnessed history being made. Judge calmly awaited a 1-1 curveball from Angels right-hander Ryan Tepera before slamming his 50th home run of the 2022 campaign. Mike Trout of the Angels, who plays center field, started to jog toward the explosion. In addition to the 44,537 spectators in Anaheim who watched as the baseball soared high off the rocks beyond the wall in the left-center field.

Only seven players in AL/NL history have hit 50 home runs before September, including Judge. It has occurred ten times, with Sammy Sosa having three and Mark McGwire had two of these seasons. After his current colleague Giancarlo Stanton of the 2017 Marlins and before Roger Maris (51) of the Yankees in 1961. Aaron Judge is the first player since either of those players to accomplish it.
