Aaron Judge Has High Hopes From Yankees’ Office To “Start Making Moves” At Deadline

Aaron Judge, Yankees

Aaron Judge has been the best performer for the New York Yankees this season without any doubt. Juan Soto is a close second to his partner in baseball crime. But the Judge-Soto duo is not enough to help maintain the winning streak of the NY side deep down to the playoffs. Moreover, the pitchers have performed more or less well this season. But they sure can do a whole lot better with new reinforcements. Initially, in the ongoing season, the starting pitchers in the Bronx had a pretty good ERA. However, things went downhill since June 13.

The hurlers started giving way too many hits and runs scored. Due to the weak defense, the offense with the Judge-Soto duo was not able to win as many games as they wanted. From June 13 to July 30, the Bronx Bombers have been going downhill. They lost way too many games, and as a result, they lost their place at the top of the American League East division. Hence, ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline, the Pinstripes need to make smart moves to bolster their roster.

On July 30, MLB Trade Deadline will end. Hence, it is now or never for the 27-time World Series champions. On Monday, the Yankees enjoyed a thumping win over the Philadelphia Phillies in Philadelphia. Aaron Boone’s side won 14-4. It was an offensive masterclass by the NY side. Moreover, it is not like the Bombers have not made any changes to their roster. They have added Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the Miami Marlins. This outfielder was instrumental in helping the Yankees get to 14 runs. After all, he hit a couple of home runs on Monday. But it was not just the new addition as Aaron Judge hit his 38th and 39th home runs of the season on the same day.

In the post-game interview, the Yankees captain told Chris Kirschner of The Athletic that other teams have started making roster moves. Hence, he hopes that his team start doing that too as soon as possible. There is no satisfaction for the Judge because of the team’s lack of activity. Adding the outfielder from the Marlins has already started to pay dividends, as he hit a couple of homers in the last game. But there is so much more to do if the NY side wants to contend for the World Series. As per recent reports, the Yankees have been looking for several closers as well as starters like Jack Flaherty of the Detroit Tigers.

Currently, the Yankees are just one game behind the Baltimore Orioles for the top position in the AL East. The Yankees are 63-45, whereas their division rival, the O’s, are 63-44. Ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline, the Yankees will need to complete more deals to bolster their chances of making a late run to a possible division title.

The Yankees Faithful hope that the front office listens to the advice of Aaron Judge and make smart moves soon. Then, they can fight hard to contend for the “Big Dance.” They will need to improve their pitching department, as they have struggled since last month.
