New York Yankees’ new captain, Aaron Judge, featured among the group of players who arrived early for spring training.

Aaron Judge has dominated the baseball world ever since he hit the record-breaking 62nd home run against Texas Rangers last season. Despite the Yankees’ loss in ALCS, Aaron emerged as a hero in New York. Further, the sluggers were rewarded with a handsome extension contract worth $360 million for a period of nine years. Hence, Aaron Judge has signed up to be a forever Yankee.

Meanwhile, the slugger decided to adhere to his leadership duties and reported early for spring training. The New York Yankees’ front office called in the hitters post February 16. However, Judge arrived early and took part in some pre-season training workouts. Moreover, the 30-year-old puzzled the fans by fielding at an unusual position.

Aaron Judge Takes Fans By Surprise, Does Multiple Rounds At First Base

The man with the highest payroll in MLB, Aaron Judge, chose to arrive at Tampa in style. The slugger caught the media’s attention by arriving at the base in a burgundy Rolls-Royce SUV. The car’s cost starts at $355,000, which the captain can comfortably afford with a handsome salary. Further, Aaron did not stop to address the press and moved directly to the field. The record holder of scoring most homers in a single MLB season started out with a few hits. The media personnel on the ground reported the ball flew all around the ground as Judge picked up the bat.

However, Aaron Judge decided to create some buzz on the very first day of his training. Post his batting practice, the slugger picked up a glove and started doing rounds at the infield. Judge, traditionally an outfielder, made multiple runs at first base. The press and fans present were left guessing as to why the captain was switching from his usual spot. Is Aaron Judge being moved to infield? Well, no official confirmation on the same has been communicated till now. Moreover, it is assumed that Judge was merely having some fun and had no plans to move infield anytime soon.

New York Yankees Bullpen Begins Spring Training

Apart from Aaron Judge, several members of the New York Yankees bullpen participated in the spring training. The pitching rotation lead, Gerrit Cole, did long runs and had a good chat with his teammates. Further, Jasson Dominguez did running catching practice deep in the center field. Jasson is a top prospect to watch out for this season.

Spencer Jones and Miguel Andujar also took the field and did a couple of workouts. The defense will start full-fledged training today. Furthermore, the offense department will join the squad in a couple of days. The spring training is vital for the Yankees as their roster is in tatters. The pitching rotation has suffered two blows already, as Frankie Montas and Nestor Cortes are down with injuries. Hence, the New York Yankees camp must regroup and build a fresh roster from scratch.
