Aaron Boone Finally Broke His Silence On Carlos Rodon Joining Yankees! How Does He Feel About This New Addition?

Carlos Rodon

Carlos Rodon

There were several MLB league teams competing for the pitcher Carlos Rodon. But in the end, it was New York Yankees who won the race. Just yesterday, the Yankees signed Rodon, adding one more skillful pitcher to their roaster. Adding the pitcher to the mix will be beneficial for the Yankees\’ rotation policy, and the team manager Aaron Boone has spoken about it.

Carlos Rodon Will Help The Yankees\’ Rotation Policy!

Looks like the Bronx has signed the greatest free-agent starter. According to reports, Carlos Rodon and the New York Yankees have come to an agreement on a six-year, $162 million deal. A $5 million signing bonus, a $22 million salary for the following season, and a string of $27 million payments from 2024 through 2028 will all be paid to the Boras Corporation\’s client. A comprehensive no-trade clause is also included in the contract, which is effective until Rodon becomes 35 years old.

Carlos Rodon has routinely been in the top six in the Cy Young Award voting and has been selected to the All-Star team each of the past two seasons. For the San Francisco Giants in 31 starts in 2022, he had a record of 14-8, a 2.88 ERA, and 237 strikeouts in 178 innings. The five-year, $185 million contract that the Rangers granted Jacob deGrom is the second-highest total value deal given to a pitcher this offseason after Rodon\’s $162 million pact.

Before his contract is finalized, Rodon must pass a physical evaluation. Carlos Rodon will rotate with Gerrit Cole, Luis Severino, Nestor Cortes, and Frankie Montas. Thus, at least theoretically, it ranks among the top five starting lineups in the game. Rodon, whose career had a rocky and injury-plagued beginning, was rejected by the White Sox two years prior. Due to a tweak in his technique, he has become one of the better arms in the game. Better outcomes have come as a consequence, but health has improved more significantly.

What Did Aaron Boone Say About Rodon?

The Yankees manager is delighted with Carlos Rodon joining the team. Aaron Boone said in a chat that Rodon has been on our radar for a few years. Boone believes he has developed into one of the best pitchers in the league. He belongs at the top of the rotation based on the way he has pitched the previous few years. Boone describes Rodon as a tremendously gifted man who has recently begun to come together in this country. The manager of the Yankees hopes Carlos continues to reach his potential and make a difference for the squad.

The rotation for the Yankees had the fourth-lowest ERA in the majors last season with a 3.51. Carlos Rodon, who had a 2.67 ERA in 55 starts over the previous two seasons with the White Sox and Giants, is now expected to replace Jameson Taillon. He had the highest strikeout rate of any pitcher, with at least 200 innings pitched during that time, with 422 over 310 2/3 innings, or 12.23 per nine innings. At 11.78, Cole came in third.
