FIA legal department sees departure of key executives

Sports News International

Governance and regulatory director Pierre Ketterer and head of commercial legal affairs Edward Floydd are leaving the FIA.

Ketterer, with the FIA since 2010, played key roles in Concorde Agreement negotiations and compliance matters.

He led negotiations for the current Concorde Agreement and developed the COVID-19 code of conduct for F1.

Floydd, the primary legal adviser, was involved in championship promoter agreements and Concorde discussions.

Their departure adds to the recent exodus of staff members from the FIA.

Former F1 sporting director Steve Nielsen and technical director Tim Goss are among those who left.

The FIA has been restructuring under Ben Sulayem, appointing a new chief legal officer, Paul O’Dowd.
